Beta Podcast – Episode 0 – Marketing and Networking

I’m really excited to share with you the beta podcast for Outlaw Design Blog. If you guys like it, this will become a pretty regular thing. I’m eager to get your feedback on this, as it is everyone involved first time with podcasting. Please let us know what you think.

Aside from some minor errors and first time jitters, I think it turned out great.

If you like this one, the rest of our podcasts will include a guest panelist by someone well known in the creative community.

Brilliant, I missed the name of the “host” but thought he did a great job of keeping it together. Great topic & there was a good level of humor there, big fan of Andrew, and it’s weird listening to his story, because it’s EXACTLY what I went through, Sitepoint etc… Also nice to hear my name mentioned a couple of times.

Look forward to more of these for sure! Good to see a RSS feed for the Podcast also. Perfect start! *Congrats on new design too!

He is a friend of Andrews and I agree that he did a nice job of keeping the show going. Its funny that your picked up on how Andrews story was the same as yours, because it was something I noticed a while back. Andrew and I met the same way you and I did and he has made a lot of the same comments you have about Outlaw Design.

Im glad you liked it. It was fun to do.

Maybe you can be our first guest panelist?!

This was a real learning experience. Easy and friendly presentation made things all the more simple. looking forward to the next one pretty soon.

Glad to hear it. There are already more on the way!

We definitely had some “first time jitters”, so I’m glad to see the response so far is positive.

It’s also very cool to learn that Liam took the “Sitepoint route” as well. :)

I definitely commend you on putting yourself out there. The new website looks great!

I’d recommend working on your flow and the confidence you have in your responses. I know a lot of these Q&A’s are kind of “on the spot” but it becomes tough to listen to every sentence you say sound like there is a question mark at the end.

Be confident. Spend an extra second thinking a bit more before you speak. All of this practice will pay off.

    Good work mate!

Thanks! Im sure the podcast will go the same route as my videos have gone. Dont know if you watched any of those, but the first few were terrible as far as how nervous I was. Now I am super comfortable in front of the camera.

I think the more podcasts we do the more comfortable we will get behind the mic. I have a tendency to ramble so I was mostly trying to concentrate on staying on topic! LOL

I’ve gotta agree with the last comment… You’re talking like you have a case of the cools. You have a lot of worthwhile info to share. Don’t sell yourself short. Losing the raft guide/stoner speech pattern will lend much more credibility to your podcasts and videos.

Hi chaps. I’ve just listened to your newly born podcast – it couldn’t have been better timed as I am just launching myself into the whole self promotion/networking/whoring phase myself!

Great work! Loved it. I’ll be here next time – mainly because of the intro/outro tune!

Glad you liked it! Hopefully the next one will be even better and have a special guest. Glad to hear you liked the into tune. I spent hours finding just the right one.

I’ve always enjoyed listening to podcasts, and being someone who loves web design and has a long commute, I’m always excited to find more web related material.

I’m actually a fairly faithful listener of ‘Boag World,’ it’s a great podcast, but is a little more stuffy and British than your show will be. I have high hopes!

Anyways, great start – I just quit my job and will be diving into the scary world of freelance life, so I appreciated the subject matter. I’ll be checking back soon…

This was really great, I hope you plan on doing more of these and I can’t believe I didn’t listen to this sooner. I really enjoy this style of “blogging” (like your podcast or From The Couch’s videos) as opposed to just reading articles all the time. Keep em coming!

    • http://www.outlawdesignblog.com Danny Outlaw

cool. Glad you liked it. We should have another one very soon!
